HDR experimentation

I have been trying out some new software to create an HDR photo (high dynamic range) the process involves taking a number of photos of the same scene at different exposures (tripod needed) and then putting them together to creat the final image (with a little bit of tweaking in photoshop) The first photo below is one of the four I took and the bottom one is the final result. The program I used is photomatix and is a free trial download but it adds the watermark when taken into photoshop until you buy the software. Interesting results though I think.

Small beginnings

I've been in the garden this weekend, cutting down the huge hollyhock stalks and tidying up other flowers and it was interesting to look back at the buds and realise how much came out of such small things.

This is one of the first digital photos I took, on a 3.2 megapixel Olympus 3030Z. I'll post the whole photo tomorrow.
